BX2200 running rough smoking no power after warm up

I have 100 hrs on a BX2200 which was stored outside most of the summer and out in the rain for the last few weeks. I tried to mow my lawn the other day and it began to run rough, smoke (fuel), and had no pwer after warm up. I let it cool down and it did the same thing after it warmed up again. Did water get in the fuel? If so how do I repair it? Do I have to clean the fuel injectors some how? It is also a little hard to start. Thanks!

Rough running, no power and gray smoke does sound like fuel starvation. Water in the fuel or air in the fuel, clogged filters blocked fuel lines and defective pumps are some causes of fuel starvation. Trouble shooting guides in many manuals relates problems to colour of exhaust smoke. The manuals give tables for gray, light gray, black and white smoke. I guess blue could be added for oil burning. You might indicate what colour of smoke it is. I think that most tractors are designed to live outside, and rain shouldn't get into the fuel. Water gets into fuel usually from condensation. If water is present, it can be seen at the bottom of the filter bowls on many tractors. Since the problem occurs after warm up, the problem may be fuel flow, rather than water. Filters are usually changed at about 100 hours, so if that might be a good idea if it hasn't been done. Changing the filter also would require bleeding the system, unless it is self-bleeding, which would check off another cause of fuel starvation. I'd also check for obstructed intake and exhaust manifolds, although the symptoms are usually somewhat different than described. If the 100 hours were in very dusty conditions, the air filter could be clogged. ....

You might try to put some fuel additives into the fuel tank and change the fuel filter. The water would go to the bottom of the tank and might be nearly thru the system. To change the filter with a little dry gas might help you out. ....

Thanks for the help, the tank was half full during the wet conditions so it could be condensation. The air filter looks clean and the fuel filter looks like a standard clear automotive type (no drain). there is a small bleed line on the fuel injector lines. I will try some fuel dryer additive, and go from there. Thanks again, any other suggestions are welcome. Has anyone else had this problem with there BX2200? Is there a drain on the tank? It is hard to see the bottom of the tank because it is between the frame rails and directly over the rear dif. ....
